Conceptual Travel Photography Composites
Imagine the World is born in early 2020, when a full year worth of travels got cancelled in a matter of a week due to COVID-19, as a way to keep creativity alive in times where you couldn’t hop on a flight or even get around your own Country.
It was the result of years of learning on the use of new techniques and software, aiming to experiment beyond the borders of photography into the realm of creativity and imagination.
The series aims to put recognizable landmarks into an impossible context blending images taken in different parts of the World into an idyllic scenery that would be coherent light-wise, composition-wise and technically-wise.
WANDERLUST
WANDERLUST is Marco’s genesi series comprising 3 works, each made up from different images taken over the past years of travels through Europe, Patagonia, Thailand and South Africa, blended into unique composites. Each piece represents the imaginary destination of a new journey, as seen in a dream through the mind’s eye of the character – the traveler.
Imaginations from the Other Side
Imaginations from the Other Side is a miniseries of 2 unique photography composites, depicting a timeless story of modern rovers, people trying to leave their land with little more than a dream in their pocket, in pursuit of a new destination, whatever the reason. The river, that separates the “Other Side”, symbolises the uncertainties and difficulties of the journey, while the skyline stands for the tendency of the common imagination to identify ideals.
